Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani cast his vote in the New York City mayoral election on Tuesday, November 4, alongside his wife, Rama Duwaji.
The 34-year-old democratic socialist is running against 67-year-old Andrew Cuomo, a Democrat turned independent after losing the primary, and Republican nominee Curtis Sliwa, 71. Mamdani has led by double digits over Cuomo in most opinion polls.
President Donald Trump endorsed Cuomo for mayor of New York City and threatened to hold back federal funds to the city if Mamdani wins.
Polls closed first in Virginia at 7 p.m.
