A multi-generational ranch family from Polson has earned state and regional honors for their conservation practices.
The Montana Stockgrowers Association awarded G&G Livestock and 'Cathey Cattle Company' its annual Montana Environmental Stewardship Award.
The family also won the region's Environmental Stewardship Award from the National Cattlemen's Association, making them one of six regional winners.
In February, at Cattle Con 2026, one of those regional winners will take the national title.
NBC Montana recently visited the ranchers at G&G Livestock, where they saw a sunset spotlighting the open landscape of this secluded family ranch in Irvine Flats.
These rolling grasslands are just some of the 7,000 acres that make up G&G Livestock and Cathey Cattle Company.
