A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit by George Nelson's son, siding with MillerKnoll over royalties for the late designer's iconic Bubble Lamp.

The District Court for the Western District of Michigan granted summary disposition to MillerKnoll on September 29, citing the millions in royalties received by Georges Mico Nelson and the estate of Jacquline Nelson since 2005 from sales of the Bubble Lamp.

He is trying to "kill the proverbial Golden Goose" after collecting millions in royalties.

Judge Jonker wrote that Mico Nelson's lawsuit "does not support his allegations with any admissible evidence showing that (MillerKnoll) has been withholding royalty payments for its use of the configuration marks.
