Meridian Field Hockey Beats Kettle Run In Overtime
For the second time in 12 days, the Kettle Run Cougars visited Meridian High School for high-stakes field hockey action, with the Mustangs coming away victorious, 2-1 in overtime.
Emma Flanagan, who scored the only goal against the Cougars two weeks ago, scored 90 seconds into overtime. This was the second consecutive game requiring extra minutes for the Mustangs.
The first half was scoreless for both teams, until Zorah Randhawa got the Mustangs on the board late in the third period.
Meridian required extra minutes for the second consecutive game.
The Mustangs previously went to a shootout against Fauquier in their regular season finale.
