October is Family History Month, and the Allen County Public Library is inviting community members to a unique local history experience.
The library's Genealogy Center is hosting a 'Haunted Forest' tour at the Lindenwood Cemetery on October 24-26. This free event includes a walking tour of the historic cemetery, where guests will hear
the captivating stories of some of the city's notable past residents—individuals whose legacies still shape the community today.
In addition to the tour, Northrop High School's theatre students will transform the woods of Lindenwood Nature Preserve into
a haunted realm of eerie sights and sounds.
According to Allison DePrey Singleton, ACPL's Genealogy Services Manager,
This event combines the best parts of Family History Month—storytelling, local heritage, and community connection—with a bit of autumn mystery.
The event will take place on October 24-26, and is open to the community.
