Introducing the CXr: A New Generation of Code Furlers from Seldén
15 years ago, Seldén introduced their CX and GX furlers for Code 0 and flying downwind sails, revolutionizing convenient headsail handling.
The second generation of furlers, called CXr, features several new enhancements, including a patented ratchet design that prevents unintentional unfurling.
The ratchet mechanism must be unlocked to furl the sail out, by making a short and distinct pull on the furling line in the same direction as the direction you want the drum to spin.
- The ratchet system allows for pausing midway while furling a large top-down sail without issues.
- A spring-loaded captive pin easily engages the swivels to the sail, another essential improvement.
