The Chambersburg Area school board has unanimously approved the collective bargaining agreement for support personnel, despite concerns raised by some employees.
The contract, which covers the period from the current school year through 2029-30, applies to support personnel including nurses, teacher assistants, secretaries, lunch aides, clerks, and other roles.
Mike Hayduk, Region 7 representative, said voting for the contract was the "right decision for (his) conscience."
A few employees expressed concerns about pay and the impact on their working environment, and asked the board not to vote for the contract. However, the board approved the contract, which was negotiated by the administration and the Chambersburg Area Education Support Personnel Association.
