Billionaire Mackenzie Scott Donates to HBCUs
Billionaire philanthropist MacKenzie Scott has donated a total of $101 million to two historically Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in Maryland.
According to recent announcements, Morgan State University received $63 million and the University of Maryland, Eastern Shore (UMES) received $38 million in unrestricted gifts.

This is in addition to her previous donations, including $60 million to these schools five years ago ($40 million to Morgan State and $20 million to UMES) and $25 million to Bowie State University in 2020.
