Columbia Memorial Hospital to Cut 127 Beds
Albany Med Health System, owner of Columbia Memorial Hospital, plans to change the hospital's designation from a rural referral hospital to a critical access hospital, pending state and federal approval.
The hospital currently has 192 beds, but only 35-50 are used daily. After the change, the hospital will have 65 beds, a reduction of 127 beds.
According to the hospital, this change is consistent with its current usage and will not involve layoffs.
No layoffs are expected as a result of this change.
