Villagers may soon be engaged in a dispute with the owner of a private woodland to ensure continued access for walking.
Residents have formed the Woodland Watchers group to campaign for access to Pentney Woods, following the owner, Colin Pennington, being granted permission to build eco-lodges, sparking concerns about potential closure.
The permission was granted after a lengthy dispute, involving government officials overturning West Norfolk Council's refusal of the plans, and a High Court judge reversing a council decision to grant the woodland "asset of community value" status.
The woods are home to rare wildlife.
Villagers are determined to continue their efforts, citing the importance of preserving access to the woodland.
