Air Canada says it cut 400 management jobs in wake of flight attendant strike

Air Canada Cuts 400 Management Jobs

Air Canada has cut approximately 400 management jobs, representing about 1% of the airline's workforce, following a flight attendant strike in August.

The strike, which involved over 10,000 flight attendants, resulted in more than 3,000 flight cancellations and significant financial losses for the airline.

“Following an extensive review, we made the difficult decision to reduce some non-unionized management positions, affecting one per cent of our total staff,”

said Angela Mah, an Air Canada spokeswoman, in an email. The job cuts will not affect day-to-day operations, she added.
