Last week in Willowvale, Eastern Cape, the Imvaba Cooperative Fund delivered 20 heifers and farming equipment to the Nqabarha Cooperative.
The fund is run by the Eastern Cape Development Corporation for the Department of Economic Development, Environmental Affairs and Tourism.
Rufus Nayo, Eastern Cape Development Corporation (ECDC) regional manager for Buffalo City and Amathole, said the support package, valued at over R350 000, included essential farming inputs such as animal health products, feed supplements, and livestock equipment.
The initiative aims to boost the Nqabarha Cooperative’s productivity and ensure its long-term sustainability, forming part of the provincial government’s efforts to strengthen co-operative enterprises and drive inclusive economic growth in the Eastern Cape.
