The Madlanga Commission of Inquiry has been postponed due to a challenge by two media houses against the decision to hold witness testimonies behind closed doors.
The commission is investigating allegations made by Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi on 6 July 2025. Proceedings were scheduled to resume on Monday, 13 October 2025, after a week-long break, but have been halted.
A journalist with a decade of experience reporting on South African politics, crime, and social issues, Byron Pillay, is among those affected by the postponement.
No statement from the commission has been released regarding the postponement.
