Medieval Tower Collapse in Rome
A medieval tower near the Roman Forum has partially collapsed during renovation work, critically injuring at least one worker.
According to authorities, the incident occurred on Monday during renovations of the structure, leaving one worker critically injured and another trapped.
- One worker was rescued and is being treated in critical condition.
- Another three workers were rescued unharmed.

Firefighter spokesman Luca Cari confirmed that the one remaining worker remained trapped hours after the initial collapse.
Rescue efforts were hindered when another part of the structure partially collapsed, sending up a cloud of debris and forcing firefighters to quickly retreat.
