The Kentucky volleyball team demonstrated its versatility in Friday's sweep of Vanderbilt, with defense and offense contributing to the win.
The UK defense was solid throughout, particularly in the first set with 22 digs, including eight from libero Molly Tuozzo. UK head coach Craig Skinner praised the team's defensive performance, saying
“Defensively, just really good tonight,”and
“Smothering most of the night. If we weren’t touching their swings with our block, our defense was picking up in the back row, so very pleased with that.”
Tuozzo attributed her success to trusting the scouting report on Vanderbilt, stating
“I think just trusting the scout,”and
“I think they hit a lot of shots to me so that made it kind of easy, but I think just trusting what I scouted for them.”
The UK offense improved as the match progressed, increasing its hitting percentage after the first set.
