Lackawanna County Special Election
A special election will be held in Lackawanna County on November 4 to fill the vacant seat of former county commissioner Matt McGloin.
McGloin, known for his Penn State Football career, was elected in 2024 but resigned in February to take a job with Boston College, which he later left.
Commissioner Bill Gaughan (D) led the effort for a special election, one of 11 in the county, after his initial nominee, Dunmore mayor Max Conway, was not appointed.
