The Netherlands has delivered an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures vessel to Ukraine, enhancing Kyiv's naval capabilities in the Black Sea.
According to Vice Admiral Oleksii Neizhpapa, Commander of the Ukrainian Navy, a second vessel is expected by the end of 2025.
Recently, we received an Alkmaar-class mine countermeasures vessel from our partners, and by the end of the year, we expect the delivery of another. Crew training is already underway.
Neizhpapa met with a delegation led by Dutch Defense Minister Ruben Breekelman and Commander-in-Chief of the Dutch Armed Forces General Onno Eichelsheim on October 12, discussing the security situation in the Black Sea region and prospects for further cooperation.
