Tennis Takes First Loss in Sweet 16

Davie tennis players Corbin Drum and Kate Chaffin reached the 7A Midwest Regional semifinals, one step from advancing to the state tournament.
Both players showed grit in defeat, with the tournament held at Guilford College. The No. 3 seed faced a couple of tough matches before facing the No. 1 seed.
“Corbin played the one seed really, really hard (6-3, 6-4),” coach Collin Ferebee said. “It was a competitive match all the way through.”
Chaffin also had a notable performance, going 2-1 on the day, with
“Kate rolled (in the first round),”according to Ferebee.
