Anglicans Need More Than One Boat

Lance Lawton suggests that the Anglican Communion is comprised of very different groups sharing one brand.

It has been argued that the Anglican Communion (AC) is not fit for purpose in the twenty-first century, with protracted upheavals over differing views on sexuality and marriage being symptoms of a deeper cultural gulf.

This gulf includes differing principles for reading and applying Scripture, making it unlikely that approaches can be harmonized under a single hierarchical structure such as the AC.

The present protracted upheavals over radically differing views and practices regarding sexuality and marriage are better seen as symptoms of a deeper and wider gulf.

Author's summary: Anglican groups have differing views.
