Belleville Kiwanis Club Closes After a Century of Service
The Belleville Kiwanis Club held a final gathering, distributing its remaining resources to local charities.
The club donated over $4,500 to the Belleville General Hospital Foundation for the children's wing and over $55,000 to the Children's Foundation.
Spokespeople for both agencies acknowledged the value of such support, citing current costs for needed equipment.
The gathering marked the end of more than 100 years of community service and volunteer efforts.
