British Grandma Speaks Out After 12 Years on Death Row
Lindsay Sandiford, a 69-year-old British grandmother, has spoken out for the first time since her release from death row in Indonesia.
Sandiford was arrested in 2012 after Indonesian police found approximately 11lb of cocaine in her suitcase, valued at around £1.6 million.
She claimed to have been coerced into the crime by a local gang that allegedly threatened to kill her son.
Despite her claims, Sandiford was sentenced to death and spent 12 years on death row in Kerobokan Prison in Bali, facing the threat of a firing squad execution.
However, a repatriation deal between the UK and Indonesian governments led to her release.
