Otakikpo Crude Oil Export Terminal: A Witness to History

Last Wednesday, in Andoni, Rivers State, I witnessed the grand inauguration of Green Energy's $400 million Otakikpo Crude Oil Terminal.

President Bola Tinubu was represented by Minister of State for Petroleum, Senator Heineken Lokpobiri. The Otakikpo Terminal is significant as it is the first of its kind in Nigeria in the past 50 years.

The existing five crude export terminals are owned by International Oil Companies and have been in operation for over 50 years. This new terminal is the latest addition in five decades and is owned by an indigenous firm.

No comment from the president or minister was provided.

Author's summary: New oil terminal launched in Nigeria.
