The Auburn Tigers fell to the Tennessee Volunteers, 3-0, on Sunday afternoon, marking their third consecutive loss and a 0-4 record against ranked opponents.
Despite being one of the tightest matches of the season, the Auburn Tigers (13-6, 4-4) were swept by the No. 16 Tennessee Volunteers (14-3, 5-2) at the Food City Center.
The sweep in Knoxville marked the Tigers’ third consecutive loss.
Tennessee opened the first set with a quick 6-0 lead, but Auburn counterpunched, closing the gap to a 12-14 deficit. Bel Zimmerman posted five kills in the set, and Grace Havlicek recorded three.
Auburn started conference play with a 4-1 record, but has since struggled.
